Product Description
Rockwool Board is a robust, high density insulation material suitable for hot surfaces up
to 750°C. manufactured from a blend of natural rocks by melting at above 1600°C. It has
a variety range of insulation applications from residential to industrial structures. It is an
excellent and cost effective material for thermal, electrical and acoustic insulation.   

Application
Rockwool Board 02-01   Flexible, medium strength.
  • Interior applications such as partitions
  • Exterior applications under a slight load, such as filling panels.
Rockwool Board 02-02   High strength
  • Walls, ceilings and roofs under a normal load.
  • Suitable for ships, vessels, ovens and industrial thermal insulation.
Rockwool Board 02-03   Ultra strength
  • Sustains a heavy load, suitable for large spans.
  • High density Rockwool Boards are popular roof insulation material with high
    compression resistance.

Rockwool Boards are suitable in applications such as temperature control, thermal
insulation and personnel protection for power plants, metallurgical, oil refineries and
chemical industries, including plant and equipment such as exhaust flues, hot gas
ducts, boilers, furnaces, ovens, autoclaves and kilns.

  • Rockwool Insulation Board 02-01 450°C (850°F)
  • Rockwool Insulation Board 02-02 650°C (1200°F)
  • Rockwool Insulation Board 02-03 750°C (1400°F)

Fire Resistance

Fire resistance is on the top priority list when choosing insulation materials.
Rapid spread of fire destroys building structures, and cost lives. Smoke and fumes can hinder escape and rescue. The ideal fire insulation materials should
not release toxic emissions or contaminate the environment. Rockwool Boards offer a high level of fire safety. When tested under new EU fire classification
system – for non combustibility to EN ISO 1182, the best A classification was achieved.

When tested in accordance with  GB9978, ASTM E-136,  Rockwool Insulation Boards 02-1, 02—2, 02-03 are categorized as “non-combustible” grade.

Moisture Resistance
Rockwool Boards 02-01, 02-02 and 02-03 are water resistant.

Corrosion Resistance
Rockwool Board is neutral in pH and incapable of corroding steel. To maintain this condition, protection must be provided against contamination from
external sources.  

Chemical and Biological Characteristics
Rockwool Boards are in compliance with GB/T11835, ASTM C 795, JIS A 9504.  It has a pH of 7, which does not support mold, bacteria or fungi growth.
Compression Resistance

Rockwool Board offers high resistance to
compression, combined with ready recovery to
nominal thickness when a normal compressive
load is removed. The graph shows the
reduction in thickness of Rockwool Board rigid
bans under compressive load.
